A lie is still a lie, even if everyone believes it. And the truth remains the truth, even if no one believes it. First truth: God’s view of you—Read More…
God’s view of you (according to the Bible):
- You were made in God’s image—“Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness…’ So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:26-27)
- God Knows You Intimately—“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made… My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.” (Psalm 139:13-16)
- God Loves You Sacrificially—“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”(John 3:16)
- The “whoever” refers to you if you believe in Him.
- God seeks you personally—Jesus describes a shepherd who leaves ninety-nine sheep to search for the one that’s lost and rejoices when he finds it (Luke 15:4–7).
- That shepherd picture is meant to show how personally God cares about finding you.
Altogether, this first truth is meant to show how personally God cares about you and how much you matter to Him—personally, not in the abstract.
